Service #329
On October 31, 2011 while listening to my sister tell me about her latest health challenges (loss of peripheral vision, loss of motor control on her right side, inability to compose an email) she got a call from her doctor on her cell phone. She told me she would call me right back, but instead I heard from her son Danny a couple hours later that she had gone to the hospital. The phonecall was from her doctor, telling her that the CATscan she'd had earlier that morning showed a mass in her brain. I visited her in the hospital on Nov. 3rd, the day before her surgery. We didn't get to talk much, she was not feeling well, was very flushed and had a headache. I also had my mom with me and she needed to go back to Sharon's and rest so we didn't get a chance to talk alone. Looking back, I wish I had pushed to go back in the afternoon. It was the last chance I would have had to have a two-way conversation with my sister.
